8th April 2025 | 15:30 - 17:00 | online | 1.5 hours | Teams

Course description

'Adolescence' is a 4 -part Netflix drama series about a 13 year-old boy accused of committing a serious crime. The series addresses themes of misogyny, bullying, violence, isolation, social media and the 'manosphere'.

From April 1st the Government has made 'Adolescence' available for all Secondary schools to stream for free. Supporting lesson resources will be made available from Tender from May 1st.

This event is to support all professionals working with children and young people.

The event aims to:

  • Further explore the themes of the show, including gaining an understanding of the 'manosphere' and why it is attracting young people
  • Provide strategies for how to talk about 'Adolescence' safely with young people
  • Consider how to positively engage and support young boys and men going forward

It is advised you watch the series before attending this event.

It is strongly recommended that your school does not watch the series with your pupils until you have sought advice or attended training (such as this) offering guidance on how to safely facilitate discussions around the topics mentioned above.
