This workshop style session offers information and advice to parents/carers on how to prevent unintentional injuries for children. It covers basics on road safety, water safety and home safety. It is particularly useful for families with children under five years old but relevant to all primary ages children.
This course is FREE of charge to Manchester schools who have completed the current Health Check. For schools outside of Manchester please contact healthyschools@mft.nhs for fees.
Ceri is a qualified teacher, having taught in primary and secondary settings for 13 years. Prior to working for Manchester Healthy Schools she was Assistant Principal leading on Personal Development at a Manchester school. Ceri has led the areas of PSHE and well-being in a school setting and has much experience of and a passion for the pastoral care of students and families. In her teaching role she specialised in teaching SEND and vulnerable students. In her role as Unintentional Injury Prevention Lead, Ceri has designed and developed resources to support schools with their delivery of safety education. This ensures that families within the school community are able to access crucial advice and information about avoiding injury. Ceri also works with the 0-5 years age category and works in partnership with other organisations such as the Child Accident Prevention Trust and Sure Start Centres to deliver key safety messages. Ceri loves exploring in the outdoors with her young son and indulging her gardening hobby!
