This introductory course is recommended for all school staff and is broken into 3 sections, as follows:
- LGBT+ Terminology, Pronouns and Understanding Gender & Sexuality: we all have a gender identity and sexual orientation. This section raises awareness of key terms and concepts that are needed to support developing pupils.
- Teaching Inclusively: this section looks at how we can engage with young people, free from assumptions about gender, sex and sexuality.
- Inclusive Language and Resources: exploring strategies and resources for making schools and lessons LGBT+ inclusive for pupils, parents and staff.

This course is FREE of charge to Manchester schools who have completed the current Health Check. For schools outside of Manchester please contact healthyschools@mft.nhs for fees.
