Supporting Grieving Children

Course description

A Session on empowering professionals to understand and best support grieving children. Exploring some grief theory and increasing confidence around having difficult conversations. 

Attendees will gain an understanding of a child’s perception of death, consider how theories of loss and grief relate to children and young people, increase their awareness of how children might react to the death of someone important to them, and what can help them.


All courses are FREE of charge to schools and organisations within the Manchester City Council boundary, however a £25 non-attendance fee will be applied if you are unable to attend and less than 24 hours notice is provided (alternative staff may attend in your place).


For schools/organisations outside of Manchester, the following fees will apply:

£50 for full day courses, £30 for half day courses.
