Manchester Healthy Schools have teamed up with the National Theatre for an exclusive, fun and informative session looking at using theatre to explore PSHE topics with your pupils. Taking the specially commissioned play Hercules and Phoebe by Joe Ward Munrow as a starting point, the session will introduce you to a range of drama based activities that address themes of gender equality and stereotyping, humility, bravery, teamwork, love and friendship.
Hercules and Phoebe was commissioned as part of Let’s Play; a National Theatre Learning programme that supports schools to create extraordinary theatre with their pupils, and has the potential to transform the way drama is approached in the classroom.
This course is open to Primary PSHE or English Leads.
This course is provided free of charge to all Manchester schools who would like to engage in the free Healthy Schools' programme.
