Good Practice in Drugs Education

Course description

This one-hour training session includes: risk and protective factors, knowledge, skills and attributes that children and young people my need when navigating risk, approaches that may be effecting in preventing harm, and creating a safer teaching and learning environment.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Articulate the quality standards for effective drug and alcohol education in the classroom.
  • Plan for efficient needs assessments.
  • Identify risk and protective factors for drug and alcohol use amongst young people. 
  • Identifying and supporting children and young people who are affected by parental substance misuse.

Participants

This course is open to all staff who work within a school setting.

Course Booking Information

This training is delivered in-house as either an inset or a twilight session.
