The overall aim of this training session is to support services to improve and maintain effective communication with parents who have learning difficulties. A key factor that influences the quality and success of parental engagement and support is communication. It is vital that services/professionals make their communication accessible to all to ensure effectiveness, more positive engagement and success.
Learning outcomes:
- Develop knowledge and understanding of learning disabilities
- Develop knowledge and understanding of how learning disabilities can impact communication, engagement and overall parenting
- Identify how services can improve their support for parents with a learning disability and their children
